PROTECT FAMILY NAMES

A Public Statement From Angels of God


There are many families in RLC. They are all important to their members. When RLC was younger, no protections were put in place to protect families from others using their names and/or starting an identical family.

This leads to bad feelings, a way for others to harass members, and confusion.

It's time for RLC to start a family registrar for family (group) extensions. Give established families a certain period to registrar their names. If they do so, the name is locked from others to use. If not, then it becomes open for anyone to claim.

It is against RLC rules to use anything that indicates you are an official of RLC if you are not. They have afforded protections for themselves. It is time for the protection of families too.

It's time to DO THE RIGHT THING and protect families and their members in the Utherverse.

absolutely not.. the families are user created and shouldnt have anything to do with Utherverse company itself.

1) I rather they focus on the new client and development of the verse.
B) if Utherverse did have any authority over the family system then we would be governed by thier rules..

If they do then they need to also protect individuals from being trolled constantly for three plus years by 'established families'. Given the motive I'm suspecting for this topic I'm voting 'no'.

everyone signed on here as an individual...as has just been said the decision to start/be in a family is not a requirement to be a member of this site and families come and go like day turns into night..so who keeps tally of this status especially when there is the occasional one with only one member.
The OP was at the meeting where it was stated this wouldn't happen so I will thank DJ Hyp for the enlightening comment

Just to add an afterthought to this...seeing as how no records have ever been kept, what tangeable evidence is available to say who had the name first and how would this be decided???.

I believe that if someone is so passionate on bringing the "protection" issue to the forefront...then they should have provided some input as to how this "protection" would be achieved, given that several may lay claim to the same name and who invented it first.

I commend Cherrie for some very thoughtfull insights

lets clear up a few of the LIES told in this forum on a daily basis

1st yes some family groups cause issues like drama but the vast majority of family groups go about their RLC lives not bothering any one last count 600 + family type groupings in the RLC

yet we get the usual anti fam posters posting lies and propaganda when ever this topic or related topic comes up

2nd Individuals are far from innocents as they portrayed,the way some post in this forum you would think individuals were all goody two shoes never causing drama,despite the proof in black and white ion this very forum or in Bold colours for the LOOK AT ME TYPES

Hm, this makes me think about some of the more usual names in Czech. You know, one of the most common names in Czech republic is "Novák". Just imagine the uproar, if one of them came up and said no other Novák is the proper one, since his family was the first one to come to be, so no one else has the right to that name.

Which I think sums my thoughts about this quite nicely Grin

Anyway, if I had any "family" here, it would be something like HOA (House of Awesome) - which already is in conflict with oen of the established "families". It's terrible. You can't get a proper name in here Sad
