Hi all,

Just wanted to let you know that wearing a WG tag on RLC as a Basic Member is apparently no longer an obvious TOS violation. Or at least the Uther staff aren't sure if it is or not.

Or maybe they may think that only sometimes it is?

I don't know.

Anyway, it's becoming increasingly unclear why we're paying $20 per month (or more) when free Basic Members can go wherever we go, and apparently can now wear badges, too.

It is possible that they went basic since the last time they logged in. If you think about it, many basics still wear VIP skins and outfits if their VIP lapses. I know I forgot to cover my VIP and when I F5'd I was basic and still had my business license tag over my head.

It could be a glitch, did you check the TOS that is in the Bordello? I think they have a separate TOS.

I'm sure when SaphyreRose is next in the forum she will respond to your question.

To wear the WG badge and utilize it; one must be VIP. At times, a WG badge attached to a basic account may be a glitch, however a basic member is not allowed to utilize a WG badge.

These rules apply to all WGs:
WG Rules & Regulations
If you do not abide by the guidelines outlined below, your Working Girl/Guy Badge and listing may be removed by Utherverse® World Operations and further appropriate action against your associated accounts will be considered without refund.


You must be a VIP or UVIP member to become a Working Girl or Guy.
You must have an active WG Directory listing to wear a WG badge.
You must be a VIP or UVIP member to become a Working Girl or Guy.

No, the offending party was FULLY AWARE that she had the WG tag on, and flaunted her being able to wear it. When I let her know that it was a TOS violation, she just told me to fuck off. So I reported her violation. Uther replied that they weren't sure if she was violating TOS. Total bullshit.

A Basic member wearing a WG tag is (or used to be) a TOS violation. Period. Doesn't matter if you "used to be VIP" - that is a total bullshit excuse. When you are a Basic member and someone tells you that you have a WG tag on, REMOVE IT. Not knowing the TOS is NOT AN EXCUSE for breaking the rules. Especially when you are told what the rules are and then continue to break them.

I say again: Why are we paying $20 per month (at least) for this platform when hundreds of people are on it free of charge, flaunting the rules, watching porn (and yes, minors *are* here and in those video rooms - incredibly naive to believe otherwise), going anywhere they choose. It's just ridiculous.

I did do that. She told me to fuck off.

And so I reported her, using the button at the bottom of our profiles. To no affect. Uther replied that they weren't sure if she had violated a TOS. Total bullshit.

Also, another member threatened to report me for harassment for my reporting this violating member. Again, no problem with Uther. Coerce, threaten, and blackmail away...

If you have a conversation with someone who acknowledges the infringement on the TOS and ROC, and who - as you pointed out - was mocking about it, get a screenshot of that too.

If someone harassed you over the issue, get a screenshot.

Without documentation, it becomes a 'he said, she said' situation for WorldOps and, I guarantee you, nothing will be done.

I've reported Basic people multiple times in the past with a screenshot of them wearing their WG badges. Always got a message back saying they were in violation. I included a screenshot this time. She's dancing on stage. WG badge on. It is what it is.

Look all,

I don't know what's going on at Uther Headquarters or what they've decided their standards are, etc. But this constant coddling of Basic members - who contribute absolutely nothing to the either the community or the business financially, is ridiculous. Some members have been Basic for years with no bother - they just visit the video rooms to get their rocks off or do non-visual sexting. Otherwise, they go anywhere they want and do whatever they want, totally free, including wearing transparent outfits and "accidentally" wearing their WG badge while in adult rooms.

As I have always said: If the business wants more Basic members to flip to VIP, start restricting where they can go. Don't leave it as a player option in their room settings. Make it policy. No Basic members in player created rooms after 30 or 60 days after creating a membership. Period. The company would see an immediate rise in VIP memberships. And if they didn't? I am struggling to see what the loss would be here, because there is none.

Morganna, I had not noticed you posted here before. I am not sure what your goal is, but it seems you do not want any basic members to have access to anything, even if they had been VIP before or age verified.

All virtual-worlds have members that could not pay for membership at one time or another, and they go back to a new looking member (called basic here) for a period of time. Are you saying Basic members should be excluded from everything?

By the way, I have never seen a basic member in-world with a WG tag above their head. Not saying it hasn't happened, I have just never seen it. I have been visiting here a while. Please share one of those pics here.

I am curious.

When I joined basic was pretty much restricted to the transporter or the street, unless they had a buddy who was sending them links to get around. It might be something to consider of directing basics to the street. I have gone green not because i could not buy UVIP I was pissed that I kept getting booted and freezing up. The thought never crossed my mind that I may be restricted in other areas other then sex.My pet peeve still is the restricting access to your clothing. I can see not allowing to buy anything new but blocking what you already own gets real dicey for me.

There is a way around that without violating any rules, but I'm not about to tell you what it is. Maybe if you spent more time actually learning the way in world works and less time in the forum, maybe you would enjoy rlc more.

I will say because everyone should know, especially new members. If you had saved an outfit in a clothing slot while VIP, you can change your outfit even if a basic member again. That is if you saved the outfit while VIP.

Don't complain about RLC not having nice things or breaking down, then turn around and say it's perfectly fine that a third or half the people on here aren't paying anything.

Regards Second Life; I'm not a premium member but I can go anywhere I want as long I follow the rules of that venue or sim I am on. So that information is wrong as depends on the rules of the place, much like member-owned places here, it is up to them whether they allow basic members or not.

who cares if there not Vip I agree on age verified but after that why not let new members explore and have some fun meeting people maybe they will join after making friends and seeing whats possible

Messaging world ops tattling on people for little offences is petty go enjoy your rlc life

i see drama every time I'm in transport and its stupid hit ignore or get out of transport

I believe the best thing For RLC to do is delete transport and have people spawn in there zaby or a random place

I think to many people thrive on drama and thats why they hang in transport actively searching for a reason to cry and whine

I feel sorry for Mods here babysitting grown adults who act like children

Ive been reported for wearing my 6 shooters on my Avi because it made some idiot scared GET A LIFE

So go on Flame me call me names tell me Im a idiot seems to be the worst offenders reside in this forum and Im glad they seem to stay in the forum and not in World

In the end if its not allowed Rlc should make it not possible If its possible its allowed we have a overlord able to stop

The rules in the Tos and WG RoC exist for a reason. Basics are limited to certain items; and are not allowed to wear WG tags, for obvious reasons. Sure there are glitches and sometimes it slips through. If one sees that - look for a Protector or Staff Mod and pass it along to them as they deal with those types of items.

some people do forget about items they cannot have on as a basic, whether it be tattoos, wg tag, or other things basics are not allowed to utilize. Mistakes happen and most of the times when reminded people will remove whatever item they need to, or they will VIP right away. Many VIP with rays and sometimes forget what exact date it will need to be renewed. One can always find that at the beta profile which is below - it will take to your own vip date by default. Click below.

If as you say, you reminded a member who was basic and in WG tag and they basically told you to sod off, you need to get screen shots of that. Send those to wg@redlightcenter.com or open up a support ticket and select the option of WG dept.

Staff and volunteers work their tails off and do address items.
